Commercial printing in
Minnetonka, Minnesota.
Minnetonka sits just south of Plymouth and is an easy run either direction. Proofs go over by email or by hand, whichever the job needs.
Printing for Minnetonka businesses
Minnetonka carries a dense band of professional offices — legal, financial, consulting — and that work is exacting about color on a logo and about stock that feels right in the hand. Spot color on a metal plate is how you hold a brand color job to job, and it is still what we do.
The reason a spot color is worth paying for is repeatability. A spot is one ink mixed to the target and given its own plate, so it lands the same on this run and on the reprint two years from now. A process build makes that color out of four screens of cyan, magenta, yellow and black, and four screens have four chances to move.
The five-color press is what makes that practical — four process units for the photography and a fifth for the brand color, all in one pass rather than two trips through the press.
Stock is the other half of it. Letterhead has to survive an office laser printer without curling, and that is a paper decision made before anything is printed, not a problem to be discovered in somebody's tray.
What runs here
It is one floor for all of it: offset printing at one to five color, digital printing for the short runs, prepress and direct-to-plate, bindery, and direct mail. What comes out of it is on the products page; what it comes off is on the equipment page.
Sending artwork. A press-ready PDF with the fonts embedded is the least trouble for everyone. If the file is too big to email, put it through send a file; small ones can go to print@omegalith.com. If all you have is the native layout file, send that — prepress will tell you what it still needs rather than guessing.
What Minnetonka work
tends to need.
Spot color, held
One ink mixed to the target, on its own plate — so a brand color repeats job to job instead of drifting a little each time.
Direct to plate, no film
Screen Trueflow images metal plates straight from the file. Fewer steps between the artwork and the press, fewer places to lose it.
Paper chosen to behave
Letterhead picked to run through an office laser without curling — a detail nobody notices until it jams.
Good to
know.
Can you hold our brand color exactly?
That is what spot color is for. The ink is mixed to the target and printed from its own plate, so it repeats. Building the same color out of four process screens will always move a little more.
Can cards, letterhead and envelopes be printed as one order?
Yes, and it is worth doing. Printed together they come off matched stock with the same ink, so the set agrees rather than nearly agrees.
